Kenwood Soup Kitchen

The soup kitchen offers breakfast and a hot noon meal from 9am to 1pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each week to anyone in need. A case manager, provided by the Hyde Park and Kenwood Interfaith Council, is available on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am-2pm. In addition, attendees are now offered access to a hot shower and NJS Free Clinic for those in need.

Norma J. Sanders Free Clinic

Founded by Dr. David Stewart and Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. LeRoy Sanders, at the turn of the millennium, the Norma Jean Sanders Free Clinic remains a pivotal community beacon. As a faith community the Kenwood UCC has been a leader in providing services to the poor and homeless, through Kenwood UCC Soup Kitchen since the early 1980s, serving breakfast and lunch every weekday but Wednesday. 

The clinic is open to walk-in patients free of charge on Fridays from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. Services provided include: adult and adolescent physicals, routine annual prevention checks, immunizations, dermatological exams and screening and prevention for HIV.
